Our TV Spec Lab is where writers finesse their specs for submission - to agents and managers, and to the TV Writing Fellowship Programs.
Instructor Nora Nolan is a stand-up comic who has written for Trial and Error (NBC) and now Paradise PD (Netflix). She is a fellow of the Warner Brothers Writers’ Workshop.
You need at least 1 exceptional spec to break into this business.
This 4-week intensive class is run like a professional writers room, and requires **2 weeks prep before class begins.**
Every writer is expected to participate: to read materials, pitch ideas, give notes, and work together to help your fellow screenwriters. In a professional writers room, you must participate if you want to keep your job! Working this muscle will benefit you.
Using Script Anatomy’s tools, you will work at a pace expected in the TV industry. It will require devoting time outside class to writing, homework and, at certain points, reading other classmates’ material to give feedback. We strongly recommend you register at least two weeks early to ensure completing your prep work on time.
As our alumni attest, this unique curriculum provides invaluable preparation for your first job writing for TV.
Required: Televisionary or equivalent experience.
Instructor: Nora Nolan
“Nora’s command of story and her ability to cut out the muck adds value to every script of mine. It’s rare to get feedback from a writer who possesses both a deep understanding of character and a profoundly quick comedic sense. She’s also dang funny.” — Paul Ditty, Semi-Finalist for 2017 NBC Writers On The Verge and 2017 FOX Writers Intensive
