Chris Masi is from southern New Jersey, where they shot the “Pine Barrens“ episode of The Sopranos. He didn’t associate with mobsters back then, but he did watch a lot of TV.
Chris moved to LA in 2006 to study film at Biola University and participated in the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences internship, working on NCIS (CBS), where he got his first taste of the TV writer lifestyle... getting paid to play make believe while sitting on couches and eating free food. He was hooked. He got his first official job in TV working as an assistant White Collar (USA) after meeting the creator of the show on Twitter. He made the semi-finals of the ABC Disney Fellowship and won a place as one of NBC’s 2014 Writers On The Verge. Soon afterward he secured his first staff position on Graceland (USA).
Chris now writes with his wife Rebecca Boss as part of a married writing team, and they have written on Being Mary Jane (BET) and most recently, Lee Daniel’s Star (FOX). Prior to his career in TV, he worked for a gang expert and professional witness for gang-related court cases, aiding in legal consultation, interviews, and online journalism.
